Coming soon for Windows 10 and 11
Open your Mac drive on Windows. Copy your files out safely.
Diskferry reads APFS and Mac OS Extended drives without a driver, never writes to them, and checks every file it copies against the original.
Browsing and previewing are free. Copying out with verification is a one-time US$14.99, no subscription.
Built for the drive you cannot afford to lose
Never writes to the drive
The drive is opened read only. No mounting, no drive letter, no "repair" or "format" prompts, so nothing on it can change.
No driver to install
An ordinary Store app. Nothing runs in the Windows kernel, and uninstalling it leaves nothing behind.
Every copy verified
Each copied file is read back and compared by SHA-256. You get a report: all identical, or exactly which files failed.
How it works
Plug in the Mac drive
USB, Thunderbolt, SD card or a disk image file. Ignore any Windows offer to format it.
Find Mac drives
Windows asks once for permission. A small helper opens only drives with a Mac partition, read only, and closes again.
Browse and preview
See every volume, folder and file as it was on the Mac, including password-protected APFS volumes once you unlock them.
Copy out and verify
Pick files or whole folders and a destination on your PC. Diskferry copies them and checks each one.
What it reads
- APFS, including encrypted volumes (with the password)
- Mac OS Extended (HFS+), including case-sensitive
- Older Time Machine backups on HFS+, browsable by date
- Disk images: .img, .cdr and raw .dmg, no permission prompt
- External SSDs and hard drives, USB sticks and SD cards
Not in the first version: writing to the drive, drive letters in File Explorer, internal SSDs of Macs with a T2 or Apple silicon chip, APFS Time Machine history, Fusion Drives and encrypted .dmg files.

Questions
Will Diskferry change anything on my Mac drive?
No. Diskferry opens the drive with read access only, so Windows itself refuses any write through it. It does not mount the drive, does not give it a drive letter and never offers to format or repair it. Your files are read and copied to a folder you choose on your PC.
Why does Windows ask for permission when I search for drives?
Windows only lets administrators read a whole drive directly. When you click Find Mac drives, a small helper inside Diskferry asks once, opens only drives that carry a Mac partition, read only, hands them to the app and exits. It never touches your Windows drive. If you would rather not allow that, you can still open a disk image (.img, .cdr or a raw .dmg) without any prompt.
Do I need to install a driver or reformat the drive?
Neither. Diskferry is an ordinary Microsoft Store app with nothing running in the Windows kernel. Uninstalling it leaves nothing behind. Your drive stays exactly as your Mac left it.
How do I know the copies are good?
After copying, Diskferry reads every file back and compares its SHA-256 checksum with the original on the Mac drive. You get a short report: either all files are identical, or the exact list of files that failed. It never leaves an empty file in place of one it could not read.
Which drives does it read?
External drives, USB sticks, SD cards and disk images formatted on a Mac as APFS (including password-encrypted volumes) or Mac OS Extended (HFS+, including case-sensitive). Older Time Machine backups on HFS+ drives can be browsed by date.
Not in the first version: writing to the drive, drive letters in File Explorer, the internal SSD of Macs with a T2 or Apple silicon chip, APFS Time Machine history, Fusion Drives and encrypted .dmg files.
Is Diskferry a replacement for MacDrive or Paragon?
Not if you work from a Mac drive on Windows every day: for long-term read and write use, a file system driver is the better tool. Diskferry is for the day you need your files off a Mac drive safely, without installing a driver.
When can I get it?
Diskferry is being prepared for the Microsoft Store. This page will link to the listing as soon as it is live. Questions until then: support@diskferry.com.
